Cyprus Avenue

And I'm caught one more time
Up on Cyprus Avenue...

While not technically a microhome, the house is under 900 square feet (not including the deck). The main inspiration for the house, aside from listening to Astral Weeks on repeat, was built around the solarium-kitchen, and letting rather a lot of light into the rest of the dwelling. The solar panels on the roof were a nice balance to the sloping glass ceiling of the kitchen, but was largely put in to justify the use of a flat roof.

The porch was patterned after that of an old bungalow I lived in and would make an excellent place to kick back in rain or shine.

Exterior view of the kitchen that shows the nearly room-spanning countertop.

Interior of the kitchen, with built-in, glass-fronted refrigerator.

View of the sitting room and large flat panel monitor/television and movable ottoman seating.

Deck adjoins second story landing, with ladder leading up to to flat roof for solar panel access.

Solar panels and flat roof. I picture enough clearance for a small rooftop garden area.

View of the bedroom from above the bed looking down on shower unit flanked by double armoires wardrobes. I've become quite obsessed with the idea of a shower unit inside of master (or in this case only) bedrooms.

View from inside of shower looking out at Ikea-knockoff king-sized bed.
